Hey, I'm a senior mechanical engineering student at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, and am looking for some Mendel parts. I'm willing to pay for parts/labor/shipping, or a trade for machined parts (as I have access to a full machine shop, manual and CNC machines), or somewhere inbetween. PM or send me a message to rskelton@purdue.edu if you can print parts and such.

Thanks,
If anyone has one for sale, or is willing to buy the kit from makerbot and solder it up, I would gladly pay the 45 plus shipping that they want for the fully assembled controller board. They just don't seem to get them in stock.

Everywhere in this forum are topics from people trying to get parts for mendel. From what I read this must be dozens of people. It came to my mind, that it would be alot cheaper to get those parts together. Yet I dont know, what the costs of injection-molding-parts are, because it just makes sence if we produce a lot of these parts (some tools have to be made by the company). I need those parts too and I would thank you, if you could drop a note here, if you are interested in getting the parts.
This may be the first step in organizing a big order.

At the moment I'm trying to get my own parts from a supplier, but if enough people would come together here (lets say atleast 12), I would ask for prices and could organise shipping from germany.
I am looking to buy the printed/reprapped parts for Thermoplast Extruder Version 2.0. This are just 2 (or 3) parts!
I already own a CNC machine, so I am trying to build a EMCRepStrap version of RepRap, that's why I just need the extruder + his controller.
Please help me to be able to build my RepRap. I promise that I will make the same, prints parts for others and sell on this forum.
Thank you.

I'm working on building a McWire Rep-Strap.

Unfortunately, I mis-cut my x-rails, and now I don't have enough U stock to do the y and z rails. I have enough left for 3 of the 4 13" pieces. Does anyone have 13" of aluminum stock for sale or trade?

I'm looking for 3/4"x3/4"; 1/8" thickness stock. Please let me know if you have a little leftover I can get. It will save me from having to order another 8' long piece.

Thanks!

Help with Ceramacast 675 (no replies)

Just for clarification, my understanding is that RepRap is a tool people use to build 3D plastic prototype models/a system that heats up soft plastic and squeezes it out of a thin nozzle to form a shape, correct? Adding plastic in various shapes and at various heights, eventually a full 3D shape is produced and the tool is computer controlled so accurate models can be produced is how I understand it. I have a large quantity of Ceramacast 675 high temperature potting and casting material available and I think the heater for the nozzle is where this Ceramacast could come in handy for that tool. I understand right now many people are struggling with various compounds and I think may be the option for them? I'd be willing to send samples if anyone would like to try it. What I’m looking for though is help in finding a place to sell 5200 lbs. of it (I know, that sounds extreme). The project for which we bought the material has been put on hold indefinitely, and therefore I am trying to simply recover some of our monetary loss on the purchase. Information on the product is located at www.ceramacast.com - we purchased the Ceramacast from Aremco. The list price from Aremco is: 1-2 lbs = $ 107.51, 3-10 lbs = $ 80.63, 11-25 lbs = $ 75.13, 26-100 and up = $ 72.96. I am willing to sell my supply for less than ¼ of the $72 cost because we've passed the expiration date, but Aremco has told me that as long as the tubs have not been opened (which they have not) they are still 100% useful and effective. Since I really don’t even know where to start to sell 5200 lbs. - if anyone can assist me with finding a potential buyer, recommend/organize a “group buy”, or perhaps even a distributor who would be willing to work on commission, I would sincerely appreciate it. If there’s anyone at RepRap who is interested in helping me sell this, I will offer commission as well. In fact, I’ll bake cookies and dance a jig at this point – I just really need help selling it because in these tough economic times we're all trying to be creative on how to improve the bottom line. I would be grateful for any assistance/suggestions.
After failing to print 'em myself, I'm now looking to by the necessary prints for a RepStrap (minus the Arduino, which I already have) from somewhere in Europe -- shipping from the US gets me charged a ridiculous import fee. I'm willing to go in on a combined order of prints if others are in the same position.
If i'm not able to readily get parts I'm thinking about other options. If I can get the extruder parts and one of each other parts I can make aluminum castings at work for the rest.
If I'm going the casting route I would need slightly oversized parts to compensate for shrinkage.

Good day, i'm having the biggest problems finding printed parts for the "darwin" reprap, cant operate a fablab and having them profesionally printed here costs more than the reprap itself built and ready.
This includes the parts for creating the belt driving sprockets etc. (if that wasnt already self-explanatory)

In addition:
If anyone has one (or 2!!) of those full electronics kits laying around, i will pay the RRRF price for it + shipping.

I live near Amsterdam, The Netherlands, i accept parts from anywhere, as long as it can be validated.
