I'm very interested in your project, actually I want to make my own RepRap. It looks impossible for me, but I'll try my best.

I need some information on thermoplastics, especially weather I can cast them at home, because I want to produce some details for the first 3D printer in such a way.

I've already found some alternative techniques and materials for casting (it is called liquid plastics [www.smooth-on.com] and Russian dealer [www.chamtec.ru]), but I suppose thermoplastics to be more suitable.

1) as far as I understand the motors of this robot is non-steppers at all. Instead of this, disk with holes mounted on the axe (just like in mechanooptical mice), and optoswitch used

2) Reed switch and magnets used as endstops.

So glad I make a mistake.

Since that time I take my degree, I worked some time in IT and now I'm mooving in financial sphere (really unexpected for me, heh). And one day I saw the information about the reprap...somewhere, I don't remember now. It was inspiring chock for me, really.
